ORPHAN EUROPE ACADEMY
Advanced education on rare disorders
The aim of the Orphan Europe Academy is to provide healthcare professionals with the opportunity to increase knowledge, develop new ideas and strengthen scientific collaboration. It achieves this by developing tailored solutions in training and educational activities for healthcare professionals involved in the diagnosis and management of patients affected by rare diseases.
A programme committee (PC) comprising both experts in rare diseases and Orphan Europe members governs the Academy. PC members have specific responsibility for the overall strategy and proposing new courses. A course programme committee (CPC) is appointed for each course and has responsibility for designing the programme and liaising with speakers. The PC meets bi-annually; they endorse programmes put forward by the CPC to ensure consistency and balance.
Since 2000 the Academy has gained a reputation for its high-quality, innovative science education.
